Other gigs to go to
Since there's only a few of us here at the moment I thought it would be interesting to see what else we're all up to for the rest of the year. We have a fairly conventional, if oldies, list of gigs coming up, such as
Morrissey
My Morning Jacket
Blondie
Chicago
Nearly Dan (a superb Steely Dan tribute)
Sex Pistols
OMD / China Crisis
Cyndi Lauper
Simple Minds / Deacon Blue
James
plus, as already promised, some more of these great WOS bands. Anyone else?

Mmmmmm
Dont think we have much booked in at the minute. We've had loads over the past few months but not much sorted for soon.
We've got Leeds Festival and did have Blissfields but thats been cancelled.
Rise @ Victoria Park
Infadels (a few booked in for later in the year)
Quite fancy seeing Billy Idol on July 31st at Brixton
John - noteing your comment about the steely dan band, have you ever been to Glastonbudget? It only a small festival. The main stage is all tribute bands, the rest is unsigned bands - its bloody brilliant. Went this year for the first time - def going next year.

Other gigs to go to
Surprising quiet at the moment although so far this year I've done a few (apart from several Infadels / A.Humans of course):
Nine Black Alps
Athlete
Boy Kill Boy
The Von Bondies
Editors
The Music
The Whip
The Hives
The Subways
Plus Fests:
Rock against Racism, Glastonbudget & Glastonbury
As I say not much else planned, but would be looking out for stuff like The Noisettes, Get Cape, Sunshine Underground, Shiny Toy Guns, Tokyo Police Club, The Rapture, Turin Brakes, Cherry Ghost, Cage the Elephant, I was a cub scout, we are scientists.

dans le frigo
i'm not sure when any of these bands have their next gigs but as i live behind a slice of cheese in the fridge behind reception at the premises studios in hackney i occasionally hear vibrations in the walls that tell me you might want to check out some of these... misterlee - this man should win a nobel prize for dedication to eclectic, heartfelt diy music; raven beats crow - these sound like super furry animals all shouting brilliant songs at each other along to a drum machine that doesn't understand welsh; absentee or any of the side projects wet paint, the bronsteins are all wonderful musical entities in their own rights; fields - a vast throbbing norfolk broads of a band lying in a field staring at the planes go by and singing songs to the sun... i've run out now and i've probably missed loads but i hope you enjoy these... more to come...

hi pebble
the last i heard we're playing all electric at 93. there was some talk of the night being based around the theme of a disco in space so we wrote a song called umm... disco in space and decided to wrap ourselves in tinfoil and bake ourselves for 40 minutes at "gas mark funky" in order to look a little more alienesque. it seemed like a good idea at the time. i fear this reply has served only to confuse you further. as it has me. this is all actually true even though it sounds made up. seriously.

ps. no, seriously

pps. it has a middle 8 that sounds like the music that plays when captain kirk finally, obviously yet masterfully gets off with the "alien bird" who's wearing a bit too much green face paint and has romantic ears. then it comes back in to the last bit like when he does that incapacitate the baddies move where he punches them in the solar plexus then clasps both his hands in a prayer like fashion and smashes them down on the now doubled over bad guy's kidneys. yeah! "it's like a fight in a disco in space".
ppps. am i talking this up too much: answers on a postcard to. "is ben talking this up too much, po.box u2mustdie, betelegeuse, space n'that'know"
pppps. lets send "the edge" to the edge of the known universe
ppppps. if we ever get to support u2 it was a fan what done this

Wireless Festival
Myself and Astoria went to Wireless on Friday in Hyde Park, mainly to see Morrissey, but we also saw a riveting performance by Siouxsie which was worthy of being a headliner in its own right. We also saw the New York Dolls (vintage punk), Guillemots (a nice performance for them) and Liam Finn (very strange but very compulsive).
We both thought that if Siouxise is doing any more shows the A.Humanoids of this forum would really enjoy her, so we'll keep an eye out.
